John Walther

John Walther is a 30-year volunteer and current Vice President / Habitat Chairman with CCA Louisiana. John previously served as CCA Louisiana State President and is currently an executive board member of the CCA National organization. He founded the CCA Habitat Program with the first project completed in 2002. Still heading the habitat program Walther has planned and executed 53 individual artificial reefs to date. Walther attended Louisiana State University earning a B.S. in Agriculture and a M.S. in Environmental Planning and Management. He recently retired as an Assistant Commissioner with the Louisiana Department Agriculture and Forestry. John has been married to Carolyn for 41 years and both were inducted into the CCA Louisiana Hall of Fame in 2023. They reside in Thibodaux and are avid coastal fishermen and adventurous travelers.
